केरल उच्च न्यायालय ने पिछले आदेश के अनुसार छह महीने के भीतर वेतन के अनुसार पीएफ पेंशन का भुगतान करने का निर्देश दिया है। जस्टिस ए. एम. शेफिक और पी. गोपीनाथ सहित डिवीजन बेंच ने 12 अक्टूबर, 2018 को जारी केरल उच्च न्यायालय के आदेश को लागू करने का निर्देश दिया। पिछले केरल उच्च न्यायालय के फैसले को लागू नहीं करने पर सवाल उठाने वाले अदालती मामलों के लगभग 80 अवमानना मामलों को निपटाने के बाद नया आदेश जारी किया गया था।
केरल उच्च न्यायालय ने यह भी स्पष्ट किया कि यह निर्णय सर्वोच्च न्यायालय में ईपीएफ और केंद्रीय श्रम मंत्रालय द्वारा दायर याचिका के निर्णयों के अधीन होगा। वर्तमान निर्देश लगभग 400 लोगों पर लागू होगा जो अदालत के मामले की अवमानना में एक पक्ष के रूप में शामिल हुए थे। केरल वन विकास निगम, HOC, HNL, और अन्य के कर्मचारियों ने अदालत का दरवाजा खटखटाया है।
कर्मचारी भविष्य निधि संगठन (ईपीएफओ) 2018 में जारी अदालत के आदेश को लागू करने के लिए तैयार नहीं था। अदालत के अवमानना का मामला दायर होने के बाद, कई लोगों को उनके वेतन के अनुसार पेंशन मिलना शुरू हुआ।

These contempt cases have been filed alleging non compliance of directions issued by this Court in a batch of writ petitions. By virtue of the judgment, about five hundred and ten writ petitions came to be disposed of by a common judgment. The petitioners in those cases, that too several in numbers, were employees of various establishments covered by the Employees' Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952. The grievance projected by them was that the respondents had not extended the provisions of the Employees Pension Scheme, 1995. They also challenged the provisions of Employees' Pension (Amendment) Scheme, 2014 by which there was a drastic reduction of the pension payable to them. Some of the writ petitioners challenged the validity of the amendment as well.
