UPSC SCRA Exam Results 2014 declared

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will be releasing the Special Class Railway Apprentice Exam (SCRA) 2014 result shortly. Special Class Railway Apprentice Exam (SCRA) 2014 was held on January 12, 2014.
The written examination consisted of 3 Papers of 200 marks each: General Ability Test, Physical Sciences and Mathematics, each to be completed within a duration of 2 hours. Negative marking was applicable.
After successfully clearing the SCRA written exam, short listed candidates will be called for a Personality test to be conducted by means of an interview by the Board. Candidates will be assessed on their leadership skills, initiative, intellectual curiosity and mental and physical energy. Maximum marks for the interview are 200.
The SCRA exam is used for selection of aspirants to the Mechanical Department of the Indian Railways. Selected candidates will undergo a 4-year training program during which they will also complete a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering. The degree will be awarded by Birla Institute of Technology Ranchi. After successful completion of their training the aspirants will join the esteemed Indian Railway Service beginning with a probationary role as Mechanical Engineers for 18 months. UPSC has announced a total of 42 vacancies for which the SCRA scores will be considered.

UPSC Issues e-Admit Card for Combined Geo Scientist and Geologist Examination 2014

The UPSC has issued e-Admit Card for the Combined Geo Scientist and Geologist Examination 2014. UPSC has kept the Admit Card Issuing Date as 28 April 2014, and the end date as 26 May 2014.
The candidates of the Combined Geo Scientist and Geologist Examination 2014 may kindly note that in case of any problem in downloading the e-Admit Card of Combined Geo Scientists and Geologist Exam 2014, or any discrepancy noticed in the e-Admit Card, they can inform the Commission about the detail of the problem by e-mail at usgeol-upsc@nic.in.
The UPSC Combined Geo Scientist and Geologist Examination 2014 candidates are required to visit the UPSC official website to download the e-Admit Card. Then they need to get a printout of the e-Admit Card. At the time of Exam, the candidate will be given entry on producing the hard copy of the Admit Card that contains his/her name, name of examination, his/her photograph etc.
The exam will be conducted from May 24 to May 26. The UPSC has published the timetable for the same on its website.

UPSC CPF Asst Commandant Recruitment 2014 Online Apply

Union Public Service Commission, on 12th April'14, has published a recruitment notification of Assistant Commandants. This year there are 136 Nos. of posts under this recruitment. More details are mentioned below:

How to apply for UPSC Central Armed Police Force AC Recruitment 2014


There are some instructions by which interested candidates may get help in filling the application form.
  1. Applicants are advised to fill and submit only one application form; if any candidate filled double application form the forms will be rejected.
  2. In case if any candidate fills multiple applications due to any unavoidable situation then the candidates who are submitting multiple applications should note that only that application with higher RID (Registration ID) shall be only entertained by the commission.
  3. Candidates who are in Government Service, Government undertaking firms, or other organizations should required to submit the applications to the commission, and also the candidates in government jobs have to submit the application in writing to their Head of Office or Department that they are going to applied for the examination, candidates can note that if commission will received any note of misconception from the side of candidates employer then their application will be liable to be rejected and also to be cancelled.

UPSC CPF Assistant Commandant Selection Procedure

UPSC CPF Selection Procedure is as follows:

  • Written Examination: Written Examination will be conducted by the Union Public Service Commission on 20thOctober 2013. There are Two Papers in this examination. 
    • Paper- I: General Ability and Intelligence- This paper will consist of 250 marks. Questions in this examination will be based on General Ability and of objective type. Question papers will be set in English as well as in Hindi also.
    • Paper-II: General Studies, Comprehension and Essay writing: this paper will consist of 200 marks. In this paper candidates have two choices in essay writing in Hindi or in English. But other paper like comprehension etc will be in English only.
  • Minimum Qualifying Marks: Minimum qualifying marks is based on the commission discretion only. Paper-I will be checked by the commission first and only the qualified candidate’s copy of paper-II will be evaluated. 
  • Physical Standards Test and Medical Standards Test: Candidates who qualified the written examination will be called for Physical Efficiency and Medical Test.
