UPSC CPF Assistant Commandant Exam Syllabus 2014

Paper-I: General Ability and Intelligence: This paper will be consisting of 250 Marks; there will be all objective type questions with multiple choices. Syllabus for this paper is as under:

1) General Mental Ability : In this section the paper is based on:
A)    Logical Reasoning
B)    Quantitative Aptitude
C)    Numerical Ability
D)    Data Interpretation

A)    General Awareness

3) Current Affairs: this section of examination paper will test the awareness of the candidates:
A)    Literature
B)    Culture
C)    Music, Art, Sports
D)    National and International affairs and events etc.
E)    Development Issues

4) Indian Politics and Economy: In this set of paper questions are based on following topics:
A)    Constitution of India
B)    Social System
C)    Public Administration
D)    Economic Development in India.
E)    Regional and International security issues
F)     Human Rights etc.

5) History of India: In this section questions are based on:
A)    Social, Economic and Political aspects of Indian history
B)    Freedom Movement and all the other topics which are related to the history of India.

6) Indian and World Geography: In this section all the geographical aspects of world shall cover.

Paper II: General Studies, Essay and Comprehension

Part-A – In this part essay type questions will come, which are to be answered in long narrative form either in English or Hindi by the candidate. This part will consist of 80 Marks. Topics in this section shall be covered these topics:
A)    Modern Indian History
B)    Geography
C)    Politics and Economics
D)    Human Rights issues
E)    Security
F)     Analytical Ability

Part-B – Comprehension, other communications/language skills – This set of paper shall be attempted in English only by the candidates. This part of paper will carry 120 marks
The topics are:
A)    Comprehension passages
B)    Developing counter arguments,
C)    Simple Grammar and other aspects of language testing.
